- The Oil Analyzers (OA) kit testing includes a TBN test. You pay an extra fee at labs like Blackstone for the TBN test however it is included at OA. The TBN (Total Base Number) is the test that checks the additive package to make sure it will still protect your engine so it is a very important part of used oil sampling. OA is a trusted independent lab used by many big corporations. Your test results will come with information from the tester and color coded with green, yellow and red to let you know what you may need to pay attention to or what is good to go.
Included is an inner sample bottle and an outer shipping bottle, a pre-paid shipping label and paperwork for the lab. Please make sure to fill out oil brand, weight, and filter information so you get the best information from the lab. many people name their truck or just use unit #1 or truck #1. These kits are designed for fleet use so you are just adapting the paperwork to a personal use application.
